Railway Transport

Why does railway transportation produce less greenhouse emissions?

Given the lower effort required to keep a train running, railway transportation consumes fewer oil liters per ton transported, and emits fewer greenhouse gas, especially for longer trips.

Additionally, both the large cargo capacity of railway equipment and it´s extended service life can reduce the emissions associated to the process of manufacturing the equipment. The same applies to railroads.

Ferronor has added the latest locomotives and wagons to its fleet, delivering a service of excellence through an even more efficient operation, lower energy consumption, and a lower emission of carbon and other pollutants.

The use of railway transportation is an effective method to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint in production processes. Reducing carbon footprint is increasingly important in a competitive world complying with a sustainable development vision.
